At last lockdown is easing off now. So many of us simply can’t wait, especially as the holiday season is upon us. But where to go? This problem presents itself every single summer, but this year the answer is clearer than ever before.
How about a staycation somewhere safe, somewhere gorgeous and somewhere rather different? We have the perfect solution for you – luxurious self-catering properties within the Highlands of Scotland.
We have seven properties and each has its own style and theme, but what they all have in common is each has been graded 5* self-catering and sleeps at least ten people.
We certainly don’t want to sound arrogant because that’s really not our style, but we very much hope that our 5* self catering properties may tick every box that is in your mind at the moment!
Such a lovely gem of a place! Staff so friendly, grounds that are incredible and out of this world amazing food! A truely out of this world place to visit! Hope to return again in the near future. Definitely worth visiting.
Whatever we think of the politicians (and let’s not go there), the one thing that has remained in our minds is the fragility of life and the need to stay safe. People seem to have their reservations (no pun intended) about going to a hotel where other people are as you can’t relax fully. Doesn’t private space sound more enticing?
One of the few good things to come out of the virus is the focus on what really matters in life. Family probably tops the list for most people. Come to the Highlands as a family or extended family and if you stay in one of our Mini Manors you will find them so spacious and comfortable. You could even bring the in laws and still be on speaking terms with them by the end of the trip!
But not too far. If you are desperate to get away, no doubt you want to go somewhere rather different from your normal surroundings. Far, far away. But, let’s get real here. You want to feel as though it’s far, but nobody actually wants to get on a plane. Do you have to be tested before you fly? Do you have to wear a mask every minute of the flight? How clean is the airport? These are questions that we don’t want to ask ourselves. At least not just yet. And so we offer you the Highlands of Scotland; beautifully different and yet completely accessible by car.
Ever since William Wallace, the Scottish Highlands have stood for freedom. It’s no exaggeration to say that you can sense it the moment you get there – the air is clean, the views are completely breath-taking and the chance to climb mountains, wonder at sunsets (and if you are feeling energetic, even sunrises) and possibly swim in Lochs -what better way to feel completely free?
Scotland is renounced for having fabulous food, the Highlands especially so. We don’t think that most people are keen to go to restaurants which have people serving them in masks from 2m away. If you hire one of our self -catering Manors you can simply arrange for your shopping to be delivered for you. Who knows by the height of summer smaller shops will hopefully also be thriving.
Okay, we may be cheating a little as there are 2F’s on this one, but you get the point... Why should Rover stay at home? Isn’t he entitled to a break as well? We have now chosen to make six of the seven mini manors pet friendly. We have kept one which is not where pets are not allowed just in case you are allergic. Or, some people simply don’t like dogs. Odd but true.
Okay, so we are cheating again. There is no such word as “fristine“ but, if Shakespeare could invent words, why can’t we? It means flawlessly pristine. And certainly were are not cheating when it comes to that. Far from it. Our head housekeeper is obsessed with cleanliness and has the harshest of procedures when it comes to eliminating any sort of bacteria. On that front, you need have no worries. When Visit Scotland came and inspected our properties, on the last three occasions we have been awarded 100% for cleanliness. Something we are very proud of and something that matters more today than ever before.
With so much to do on the doorstep (cruises on Loch Ness, fabulous walks, cycle rides in stunning scenery etc) there is so much fun to be had outside. And, in the highly unlikely event of rain (Scotland and rain that have you ever heard of that before?) then as long as you are with people you like, there is just as much fun to be had indoors.
Well we talked about the furry variety. How about the non-furry variety? Not everyone wants to go on holiday with family however much they love them. You may prefer to go with friends all of whom have had the virus, or all of whom have stayed safely tucked away. Once again, our Mini Manors are so large, that keeping 2 m apart is no problem. How many places can make that claim?
Can you think of any other self catering properties that could match what we propose? If so, do let us know and we will head straight there. If not (and we’ve been racking our brains a lot on this one) then do come and pay us a visit by renting a Mini Manor for a week this summer. We are waiting to welcome you with open arms. Our arms may be 2m away from yours, but believe us the welcome will be as warm as ever!
