You could not hope for a more magical place to tie the knot than Achnagairn’s Ballroom. It is breathtaking. In fact, the most common word uttered when people enter the room for the first time is “wow”.
Built in 1912, Achnagairn’s ballroom came into being because the then-owner’s daughter was about to have her 21st birthday and she had nowhere to celebrate, poor lamb… so they built her a ballroom!
Quite apart from its beauty, Achnagairn's ballroom is also surprisingly versatile. Here is how it typically works for a wedding:
Many guests chose to take their vows knot under the beams of the vaulted ballroom. There is nowhere in the Highlands as similar to a church, or as magical.
You can choose exactly what sort of ceremony you would like at Achnagairn, as you tie the knot under the vaulted ceiling.
Once the formalities are completed, the couple will proceed to the grounds for the throwing of confetti and a drinks reception.
When the guests return, the ballroom will have been transformed into the most magical banqueting room. Some brides and grooms push the boat out fully, festooning the room with candles, flowers and lights. Others use the natural beauty and simplicity of the surrounds for a less elaborate feel. For the wedding banquet itself, there is a large choice of menus from our award-winning catering team.
After the meal is finished once again the couple and guests will retire to the reception rooms or indeed enjoy the grounds while the team prepares the ballroom for its final role of the evening– dance floor extravaganza.
Whether you have a live band or a DJ, the glory of hiring Achnagairn on an exclusive use basis means that you can enjoy the ballroom until the early hours of the morning, dancing until dawn.
And one more thing - the winding staircases and minstrel’s gallery up at the top of the ballroom are idyllic spots for wedding photos. Or even for being piped into the wedding breakfast by you very own Highland Piper...
