One of the lovely things about Achnagairn Estate as a wedding venue is how it allows you to be surrounded by all your friends, whether your wedding party is staying for one night or more. In total across the estate, Achnagairn can sleep up to 130 people. Most couples choose to have closest family and friends to stay the two nights in the castle and other friends and relatives in the Mini-Manors, which are 200 metres away:
55 guests can stay in the castle’s 24 luxury, individually designed bedrooms. Depending on the size of the wedding party, couples tend to invite their closest friends and family to stay here with them (as they stay in the glorious Bridal Suite).
75 people can stay in the “Mini Manors”, seven 5 / 6 bedroom houses, a stone’s throw away from the castle. Depending on the number of guests, couples can allocate these rooms or allow their guests to book them themselves.
The Achnagairn Estate bedrooms are so individual that there is always one that is just right...
Every room on the estate espouses our ethos of “Escape the Ordinary”: each is totally unique, with its own name, theme and individual design. Some have four posters, some have marble bathrooms; some have safes hidden in the wood panelling, and some have painted murals.
Couples always have a wonderful time selecting the rooms for their wedding guests: they are so individual that there is always one that is just right for an auntie here, and another for a cousin there. Explore the pictures to see what we mean!
Generally, the bridal couple hire the castle and charge their guests for rooms (other than those closest) to stay the two nights, just as a regular booked room. Guests usually pay us directly if they stay in the Mini-Manors. However, the bridal couple tend to pay the initial deposit to secure the dates for their group and are then reimbursed.
Of course, if you feel at all uncomfortable collecting payments yourselves, we are happy to take deposits for castle rooms from your guests themselves, for an additional fee.
