It's rare to find a house that can sleep so many people, in so many lovely bedrooms, in such a private and beautiful location. This is why our owners bought Cortes House: they wanted a spot to escape to with family and friends where everyone could have their own room, but with big enough reception rooms that everyone can cook, eat and enjoy each other's company together. The house makes the ideal self catering breaks for a group getaway. It sleeps up to 30 people in 12 beautiful bedrooms.
Set in Aberdeenshire, Cortes House is easy to access, and with supermarkets within easy reach, it couldn't be easier and more ideal for a self catering spot to escape post-lockdown.
The house might look incredibly grand, but the space is charming and has the feel of a very decadent family home (if maybe with a grander atrium than the usual...)! It is the ideal place to gather together and reconnect.
A good break has never been more needed. After months apart, Cortes is the perfect place to get together with a great group of family and friends and finally enjoy each other's company after lockdown. You can all drive or travel up separately, and even have the space to socially distance if needed!

Cortes has four large reception rooms for relaxing, playing games or simply spending some time together after such a long time apart!

As in every house, the kitchen is a focal point: where the whole group gathers to cook together or nab some food from one of the many fridges.
Enjoy your privacy in unique bedrooms
There are 10 bedrooms in the main house and a further two bedrooms on the lower ground floor. Each one is full of character and individually designed, meaning everyone can choose their own room to enjoy some privacy during their break.
Get some air
Cortes House has beautiful gardens for playing croquet, giant chess, or simply having a good run around.
Entertain yourselves
In the lower ground floor, you will find a treasure trove of activities: a ping pong table, and a cinema room, to while away the hours.
Exploring the local area
Cortes House is lucky to be set near a number of fantastic attractions, whether you are more interested in sports, history or nature. And they all allow you to keep your distance!
Golf
Cortes is just half an hour away from some of Scotland's best courses. Cruden Bay, Trump International Golf Links and Royal Tarlar are just 30 minutes away, and Fraserburgh Golf Club is just around the corner.
History
Slain's Castle was reportedly the inspiration behind Dracula. The rugged ruin makes for a fantastic walk and exploration, just 20 minutes from Cortes.

If you fancy beautiful landscapes or to explore a charming local town, you can find them within half an hour of Cortes - on foot or by car!
