February is here and with it comes that sense of anticipation – the first holiday of the year is fast approaching and there’s plenty of reason to celebrate a couple of days off with the kids: most of all, getting them out of the house and out of trouble on a Highlands adventure! Loch and load

One of the most popular and well known staples of Scottish folklore and culture, Loch Ness is a must-see for anyone exploring the gorgeous Scottish Highlands. Notable for its depth, massive amount of water and mystery, Loch Ness attracts visitors from all over the world – did we forget to mention the monster that might or might not lurk in the water?

Explore the Loch on a cruise, Jacobite offers day-long trips out on the waves with the option to visit Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition – perfect for learning a little history, or entertaining the kids with stories of Nessie.

A little closer to home
