Achanagairn Estate Grounds
No castle break in Scotland could be complete without stunning grounds to enjoy. Whether you prefer to saunter by our small meandering stream, or to admire the formal gardens, taking photos as you go, Achnagairn’s grounds will not fail to delight.
When you take the castle on an exclusive use basis, why not enhance your stay with activities in the grounds. We work with a highly professional, and equally friendly local activities company, renowned throughout Scotland, who can arrange for activities as diverse as our guests! From archery to zorbing (rolling down hills inside a large, clear ball), they have not only the entire alphabet, but the full range of outdoor pursuits covered!
For those seeking a more tranquil and elegant castle break in Scotland, our formal gardens are particularly lovely for drinks parties. Spill out from the panelled drawing room to gaze over the rolling hills, with a glass of champagne in your hand. Remember that in the summertime, it does not get dark until 2am, and so your festivities can continue outside as long as you wish.
If your castle break in Scotland involves a wedding, and you love the idea of tying the not surrounded by nature, then our grounds really come into their own. The ultimate use revolves around our romantic Victorian arch at the bottom of the garden, a collector’s item, which was lovingly transported piece by piece from Devon to Inverness. It makes the perfect setting for a wedding al fresco. If you pick this option, your photographer will be delighted. Whether the couple is framed by the arch, with its cherubs, or whether you choose the backdrop of the castle itself, you will be delighted.
If you are staying in one of our Mini-Manors, you will find yourself among manicured lawns, looking out onto some of the highest trees in the UK. Adorning the Mini-Manor gardens, and adding to the sense of quirky individuality, you will find sculptures large and small, statues serious and lighthearted. After a few delicious cocktails in our bar, you will wonder whether the giraffe standing so proudly among the trees is not just a figment of your imagination!
So whether your castle break in Scotland is as a hotel guest in one of the Mini-Manors, or as the exclusive use Laird and Lady of the castle for the weekend, no doubt the grounds will play a large role in your enjoyment over the course of your stay.Enquire Now
