You are staying in our Mini Manors (MMs), but lots of the festivities will take place in the castle itself - just a few minutes' walk from the MMs.
Below, you will find lots of details about your stay: from check out times and bar policies to running routes and places to explore...
Some are nice-to-knows, and some are need-to-knows for Keri and Paul's wedding!
Achnagairn Estate is an exclusive use venue, not a hotel. This means that everything about your stay has been tailored to your hosts! From the room you find yourself in (unless of course you booked directly with us), the food, timings and activities, everything has been chosen for Keri and Paul's wedding.
Check out on Wednesday is 11am. We have to ask you to adhere to the exit times agreed by your hosts, to be fair to those guests coming after you.
(We're afraid this is one of our more rigid rules... Beyond the contracted time of 11.30 from the estate, if guests are still in the castle, hosts will incur an hourly late check-out charge.)
As licence holders, Achnagairn have to be legally responsible for all alcohol consumed on the premises of the castle and therefore while the Achnagairn bar is open, only alcohol purchased from Achnagairn can be consumed.
Please note that when the bar is not open, you are able to consume alcohol provided by your host. In the Mini Manors, you are able to consume your own alcohol as long as this is not brought down to the castle.
On Sunday, the bar will be closed. Keri and Paul have kindly organised dinner and drinks for the evening.
On Monday, the bar will be open from 1.45pm until 1am, with last orders at 12.30am.
On Tuesday, your hosts are providing food and drinks throughout the day.
Payments will be card only.
Breakfast is available in your Mini Manor kitchens for the three days.
You’ll know this one… but we have to say it in any case. In compliance with UK law, all bedrooms, and indoor areas at Achnagairn Estate are non-smoking and non-vaping. If anyone is found smoking within these areas, there will be a charge of £250 + VAT.
To access Wi-Fi at the Mini Manors, select the network ‘Mini Manors’ and the wifi is 'PerfectManors'.
In case of an emergency, or for help during the day, please contact us by phone on 01463 831 878. After hours, please call our estate manager (who stays on site) on 07774 259 057. If you have any other queries please don't hesitate to contact us on [email protected].
We would be delighted to hear about your experiences with us - whether good or constructive!
Discover more about the history of Achnagairn and its refurbishment... The castle you are in now was built circa 1812 and opened its doors in 2008 in its current form, after 2 years of intensive refurbishment. In fact, when our owners bought the place, it was on the at-risk register, with only four functioning bathrooms...
Achnagairn is a 30-acre estate, with a lovely woodland walk and a good ring around it that makes an excellent short running loop! Also head to Reelig Glen - just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk away for a stunning, ancient woodland walk, or a roughly 5 mile running route (there and back and round!).
Whether it's a boat cruise down Loch Ness, a walk along stunning Glen Affric, a bit of dolphin-spotting or a trip to Culloden Battlefield, explore our suggestions for things to do in your down-time. There is plenty to do and see in this remarkable part of the world!
There is a myriad of things to do and see in this remarkable part of the world.
If you have not got a car, there are lots of taxis around, but we would recommend booking these in advance, or estimating around 30 minutes for their arrival on booking. For a standard taxi, expect this to be around £15-25 into Inverness, or £30-50 to Inverness airport.
Beauly Taxis is the most practical for getting around the local area - located just 10 mins away. But they can be in high demand! +441463 782 498.
Inverness Taxis - +441463 222 222
City Taxis - +441463 222 555
These two companies are extremely reliable and have a larger fleet, but come from central Inverness so can take a little longer to arrive and cost a bit more if you are only travelling into town (but tend to be the same price to the airport).
First of all, let us tell you what we are NOT. We are not a big, bland hospitality chain. We are not uniform in our approach. We are not part of an an international conglomerate where everything is done by rules. It’s probably fair to say we are the very opposite of all that....
Our motto is 'Escape the ordinary' and we hope you will leave having done exactly that. Please think of us again, whether for a wedding, party, leisure trip or corporate affair!
