Tomatin Distillery Whisky Tours

Whisky is one of Scotland’s finest exports, and the sheer number of distilleries in the country reflects that. One name stands out amongst the crowd, however: Tomatin Distillery in Inverness, home of award winning malts and a number of tours that are perfect for visitors and anyone eager to learn more about the whisky trade.

Just 16 miles away from Inverness and a half hour’s drive out from Achnagairn Estate, the Distillery has a number of tour packages that are sure to appeal. Being a fan of whisky isn’t a requirement, as the tours

and guides are presented in a simple enough manner.

Learn how whisky is distilled and produced with The Legacy Tour, a complete history of the distillery since it opened in 1897 or take the more in-depth Taste of Tomatin Tour, featuring a ‘tutored nosing and tasting of 6 different whiskies’.

Given the nature of the tours (within a distillery) only The Legacy Tour is available for those guests under the age of 18 – though a short distillery film is available to be played via the Tomatin Distillery Visitor Centre and the website has its own ‘virtual tour’ just in case you’re undecided on visiting and seeing the Distillery for yourself!

A Genuine Highlands Experience

With a brand store that offers a huge range of whiskies and exclusive merchandise, there’s a little something to everyone at Tomatin. One of the more unique offers available is the ‘Bottle Your Own’ special, allowing you to fill your own bottle of exclusively distilled whisky that you can take home and enjoy at your leisure!
