A photo of some whisky barrels

A trip to the Scottish Highlands is the ultimate destination to fully experience our culture and our Scottish heritage. Of course, no trip to Scotland would be complete without a “wee dram” or two. Renowned  for its world famous  whisky industry, the Scottish Highlands provide the opportunity to enjoy a multitude of traditional distillery tours and trails.

Glenmorangie Distillery

The home of one of Scotland’s most popular whiskies, the Glenmorangie distillery is located a short distance from Inverness, in the lovely little town of Tain. Using high stills to yield a light distillate, the  long established process at Glenmorangie is dedicated to creating the smoothest of whiskies. Only a stone’s throw away from our Perfect Retreats Highland destination, it would be shame to miss visiting one of Scotland’s greatest attractions!

Glen Ord Distillery

Located to the west of Inverness lays one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. The Glen Ord distillery, established in 1838, has remained true to its origins  and continues to distil its whisky products by the same process developed in the 19th century.
