BBC ALBA hosted their New Years Celebrations LIVE at Achnagairn House
A fantastic night of live music, singers and pipers was held at Achnagairn House on New Years Eve by BBC ALBA. It was filmed live to help bring in the New Year with a bang! Talking about a family stay at Achnagairn house instead of family camping trips - "Achnagairn House, just outside Inverness, is as far from roughing it as you can possibly imagine...As a 21st-birthday present for his daughter, one of the previous owners installed a ballroom. As you do. I got a watch. It is a beautiful oak-panelled room with a fabulous high ceiling...Each of the (bed)rooms has its own identity. They range from the sumptuous bridal suite with a huge four-poster bed and a whirlpool bath that gives a spectacular view out over the grounds, to the delightful "Ring-a-Roses" bedroom with its huge round bed and egg-shaped bath. Words were also exchanged over the amazing "Bridge" bedroom that had twin baths. Just think, you'd never have to suffer the tap end again. Eventually though, trades were made, deals were struck and rooms decided upon. Time to explore the rest of the house."
