PLAYING GOLF AT ROYAL DORNOCH GOLF COURSE

At around 45 miles from Inverness, Royal Dornoch Golf Course is easy to get to and a pleasant drive. The 18 holes are exciting for golfers prepared to tackle this famous Championship course, but if you’re more of a novice then why not head to the second course. The Struie is also eighteen holes but it’s great for families and players looking for something less challenging than the main course.

While you are spending time at Royal Dornoch there’s an interesting standing stone on the grounds known as ‘The Witch’s Stone’. It is engraved with the date 1722, although there is some speculation that the last witch condemned to death here was five years after this date. Still, it’s an interesting slice of history to enjoy when you’re avoiding a slice down the fairways.
